My favorite thing to do is use humor to inspire people to see things in new light. I graduated from Hampshire College with a degree in filmmaking and screenwriting. I subsequently studied for four years in an intensive Method Acting and Diamond Heart Approach inspired group with the Rob Reece Actors' Workshop.
The Artist
In 2003, I had a weekly radio show on Pirate Cat Radioand hosted a weekly night of costumed karaoke at the Odeon Bar in San Francisco. In 2004, she started a circus called The Latest Show on Earth and toured the country. In 2006, she wrote the book, Getting Sh*t Done a poignant and existential parody of David Allen's time-management book Getting Things Done.
I have been performing standup comedy for over ten years, sharing the stage with many talented comics including Bill Santiago, Arj Barker, Brent Weinbach, W. Kamau Bell, Vanda Mikoloski, Amy Stiller. My first solo show, The Punchline, about following one's dreams and what gets in our way, won "Best of the Fringe" and "Best Female Solo Show" in the San Francisco Fringe Festival. My second solo comedy show, Eat, Pray, Laugh!, about my travels in India, won "Best Storyteller" in the New York United Solo Theatre Festival and "Roar of the Crowd" from Goldstar Tickets for Highest Member Rated Show. The show has now played to sold out audiences in San Francisco, Hollywood, New York, London, and Mumbai. I am currently writing my third solo show, One Life Stand, which is about comedy show about love.
I have performed at Cobb's Comedy Club and The Punch Line The Improv in San Francisco as well as the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, Gotham Comedy Club, and Ha Comedy Club in New York.
The Healer
I have also completed a wide variety of courses and programs in healing and transformation. In 2009, I graduated from the year-long life coaching and courseleader training program, Transformational Course Leader Training, taught by Arete co-founder Guy Sengstock and AWE co-founder Alexis Shepard. I am also graduate of The Arete Experience, The Spirit of Life Institute, and Authentic World/The Authentic Woman Experience courses. I have been a member of the professional Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor and the Creativity Coaching Association. Healing methods I utilize include The Sedona Method, Emotional Freedom Technique, guided shamanic journey work, neurolinguistic programming, Diamond Heart Approach-inspired essence work, and classic accountability and goal-setting coaching.
I have a thriving coaching and workshop business and work in person and by Skype. I live in Oakland, California and travel to India on occasion. I practice, imperfectly, Vipassana meditation, an experiential method of "seeing things as they really are."
